[for autumnspectral]

for autumnspectral
shades
brush-stroke little wonder-
ful hillsides
fleck dancing color on air
crispand whirling
as mothers wonder

whistlecalland sigh

yet justinandmike race
tumbling through leaf piles and
rolling through their
fall

their world is bitter-sweet
dancing hours at play
fleetingand glorious
with amyandericasinging joyful

across the yard on rope swings

while mothers call
voicing full names and

leaves
descend
floating

til autumnends
white
